About

Advocate for Farmland Preservation

Kate McGraw is a Pennsylvania based artist and community leader bringing art, sustainable agriculture, and farmland preservation to the forefront of Pennsylvania politics.

Kate serves on the Cumberland County Agricultural Land Preservation Board and remains a committed advocate for agricultural issues that affect Pennsylvania farmers and farmland stewards. In 2018, Kate helped save McCormick Farm from eminent domain along with a dedicated group of local farmland preservation advocates and policy makers in Cumberland County. In concert with this community action, the Pennsylvania legislature passed HB 2468 which became Act 45, strengthening protections for conserved land from eminent domain.

In her 2016 campaign for State Representative in PA’s 92nd Legislative District, Kate McGraw garnered the highest percentage of the vote for any Independent or third party candidate in a state level race in PA modern history. Kate is pleased to announce her candidacy for Cumberland County Commissioner as a new member of the Democratic Party.
