When we first started looking at what it would take to actually get on the ballot for November, the one key stat that stood out was the number of voter signatures required. Independent candidates need to gather enough signatures equal to 2% of the votes cast during the last general election for the seat. In the case of the 92nd district in PA, that number amounted to a minimum of 359 valid names of registered voters.
To date, we’ve gathered over 700 signatures from registered voters in the district, knocking on doors and visiting with constituents in every township. There’s still time to gather your signature if you want to show your support. The final submission deadline is August 1st, so we’ll be submitting all the remaining signatures and required paperwork this week.
